Customer Returns

 Customer Returns is merchandise that cannot be sold by department stores because it is not first quality or it may have been previously purchased and returned.  The condition of the merchandise will vary. The majority of this merchandise will vary from “almost first quality” (i.e., returned by a customer due to preference) to “slightly distressed”.

Customer Return lots on average contain approximately 10% to 15% of distressed merchandise. 
However, this ratio can vary by the lot. Customer Return Quality is always priced below wholesale cost and gives the consumer the most value for their purchase.

Dept Stores send non-saleable merchandise to a Central Return Center (CRC) where items are scanned and sorted by merchandise category.

Customer Returns merchandise is sold by pallet by category.

The pricing is based on a percent of the original vendor cost, which will vary by category.
